I just got an E71 for christmas, and I am able to sync my email, but I still get the "incorrect password" error. Every time it shows up, it will keep popping up every few minutes, and DRIVE ME CRAZY. The only way to get it away is to delete the sync profile and recreate it exactly the same. That will get it working again for a few hours.
I've tried updating to the latest MfE, so maybe that will help.

For Nokia E71 I found, as someone else stated, that when I disabled syncing for Tasks it all started working beautifully.

Here are two dicoveries I have made which may help a few people with E71:
1. If you are having problems with an error messge about password that only comes up occasionally, then do NOT set Sync Mode to 'Always On'. Change it to 'Every 15 minutes'.
2. Donot 'Exit' mfe. Instead switch back to the Home page by pressing the menu button and keeping it pressed until you get to the Task manager. Then select the home page. The will ensure that mfe is always running. I personally have found that it does not appear to work if I just exit.

I was able to sync calendar and e-mail for a while on my E71 then it stopped working. I removed the MfE and then reinstalled. I got it to work again only when I sync Email and Calendar. It however, does not sync contacts and tasks.

I installed on my E71-2 (v300) and it works fine. It also syncs my gmail mails, it created an Inbox called: "Mail for Exchange" and put my mails there. I don't know if this is something new, but it works.

I just installed the tool on my new E71 and got the same error, but I found a solution:
You have to switch off the syncing of tasks! Then there will be no system error.

Got MfE (latest version is 2.9) to sync with google calendar on my nokia 5800. Used settings above. Didn't work until I realised you can't scroll between pages (on MfE on the phone) altering settings - you must click "back" after altering a page, so it can connect and update and then your change is registered and you can go back in and change something else. May be a 5800 quirk, of course. Good luck!

Thanks for this. The sink works for Calendar and Contacts on my Nokia E63.
The down side is after awhile 1) the contacts start "breeding" and disappearing at random and the phone numbers in each contact disappear. Have you had any experience with this occuring?

I am now synchronising contacts using the PC Suite Sync on the phone (thanks for your other blog on that!) and calendar on MfE which works fine.

For the record, I'm syncing google with thunderbird on my laptop via zindus

Thanks for all these useful details .... I just got my nokia E71 3 days ago and was trying to sync Google Contacts and Google Calendar.

Contacts Sync:
Yesterday I successfully sync my 200+ contacts from my Google Contact to my E71 but it only worked once. It doesn't work today. My E71 screen was showing the "Invalid host address!"message.

Calendar Sync:
I don't have any luck on Calendar sync. My E71 screen was showing the "Unable to open database!"message.

Sync Setup:
I was using "https://m.google.com/syncml" following the step-by-step instruction as per Markus Lanthaler in his blog "http://blog.lanthaler.org/2009/02/nokia-e71-contacts-and-calendar-sync.html"

Questions:
1. I want to know more about user "GoodSpeed" mentioned about "./Calendar" in his post Feb 10, 2009.
2. Why my contact sync only worked for 1 day? Is it my setup problem? or what.

Can someone help me? I'm just a non-techy dum users :)
